Update #2 ♡

Hi lovelies,

So I am finally back and thank you all for waiting patiently. As you guys might have read from my previous life update my life was very hectic as I was packing up once again for my second  year of college. I have finally settled into my new place and still haven’t had much time to unpack since school has started. I’m commuting this year and it takes 30 minutes to get to school (not cool) but oh well. Anyways I’m really happy to be back and ready to blog. I have seriously missed writing posts and reading posts from all the amazing blogs that I follow. I am still scavenging different stores to find a decently priced camera that still offers quality pictures so I hope to come back with much greater quality. Again thank you for being so patient and taking the time to read my blog. You are all awesome!

Update ♡

Hi lovelies,

As you can see from the title this is a little life update that I will be bringing all of you today. I haven’t had the chance to talk much about myself and my personal life so I guess this will be some bonding time for us (unless you don’t want to bond that’s cool too)…anyway I am originally from Southern  California but I moved up to Northern California to go to college and I have successfully completed my first year. I will soon start school again so that means I will have to lug all my things back up North which is a pain in the butt, both figuratively and literally (7 hour car rides literally hurt your behind). I’m very stressed since I won’t be living in the dorms this year but in my own apartment with a friend which is a completely different ball game and I could dedicate a separate post to just this. I have been frantically running around trying to minimize the things that I pack. I solely want to bring along things that I will actually use and not just things that will take up space. So all in all my life is hectic at the moment and I’m borderline an emotional wreck. So what’s the point of me sharing this with you all? Well my fellow internet friends I’m going to be leaving to my new apartment on the 22nd of this month and I won’t be posting much if anything after this post. I apologize and hope you all can understand that I am one of those people that suck at packing much less packing up for a move and this will take up most of my time until I am settled in. I’m also very excited to mention that I will be getting a new camera so I will be able to do makeup tutorials now that the picture quality will be a lot better!! I also have a ton of product reviews that I am going to be whipping up so definitely look forward to that. Even though I will be busy with school I will be posting a lot more and I am just so excited for it. I guess that’s all for now, thanks for reading, and next time I talk to you all I will be in Northern California

Drugstore Products: Mini Wishlist ♡

Hello lovelies,

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and are ready to take on Monday (I'm not). So today I bring you all a mini wishlist of drugstore makeup products/tools that I have really wanted to get my hands on. I'm definitely someone who enjoys the quality of high end products but drugstore brands have and always will have a special place in my little makeup lovin' heart. This is just a mini wish list because if I had a full sized wishlist we'd be here for days, nobody got time for that. These are just a couple of drugstore goodies that I need to have and try out so without further ado here are my four makeup wants:

1. e.l.f Essential Eyelid Primer - This little baby is only $1 and I have read countless reviews that swear by this primer. Even if this turns out to be a dub I don't mind losing $1.

2. e.l.f Essential Eyeshadow Brush - Another e.l.f product, surprise surprise. Again I have heard many amazing things about this eyeshadow brush both on blogs and YouTube and for a $1 you cannot go wrong.

3. Revlon colorstay foundation - I have used this foundation during my high school days and it didn't go so well. I don't think it was the foundation itself that wasn't great but my skin which was very acne prone and oily that even high end foundations seemed to fail me. My skin still sprouts the usual pimple and I am still a bit oily, but my skin has healed quite nicely compared to how it once was. Revlon is the king of drugstore foundations in my opinion so I want to re-use this bad boy and hope to be wowed by it.

4. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - This particular line from Maybelline has been raved to me by a couple of my close girlfriends so I have really wanted to try this concealer out and see how good it really is.

I know I know, you might be thinking to yourself  what a BORING wishlist as all these products are basics and not a crazy eyeshadow or blush but I believe that having the basics such as foundation, eye primer, concealer, and good brushes are essential in anyone's collection. It would be a bonus if you are able to snatch up such essentials for a cheap price. I will be going out soon and purchasing these items and reporting back to you all as soon as I can.

Thank you so much for reading and have a wonderful week.

Non-beauty things that I am currently enjoying ♥

Hello my lovely readers,

The month of August is now behind us and I'm always baffled at how quickly this year is coming to an end. There is only four months left of this year, yeah let that sink in. Anyways I didn't post up an August favorites just because I haven't been using any kind of makeup on my face. It has been extremely hot these days and I have just been sticking with my handy dandy Pond's moisturizer and a basic sunscreen. I thought it would be fun if I just shared with you all what non-beauty things I am enjoying. Shall we get started?

The first thing that I have been hooked on is a Korea Drama by the name of Jung Yi, The Goddess of Fire. I have just started watching this and oh my goodness I can't stop watching! This is a 2013 drama that is currently airing in Korea and recounts the true events and life of  a woman named Baek Pa-sun who became the first female potter and porcelain artist in the Joseon Dynasty. I'm not a big fan of historical dramas, to be entirely honest I can never get passed the first episode, but this drama has captivated me in a way that has left me wanting more after every episode. I have grown so attached to all the characters in a matter of a few episodes which is very rare for me to do no matter how good a drama is. The story itself is beautiful and empowering and again just the fact that it is based on real life events makes it all the more memorable. I'm currently on episode 12 and I am fangirling my little heart out! I highly recommend this drama and I might dedicate a whole post to it.

The second non-beauty thing I have been enjoying is another drama, surprise surprise, by the name of A Tale of Two Sisters. This is a drama that is currently airing in Korea on KBS and is 120 episodes long. I'm not usually a big fan of super long dramas like this one because I sometimes feel like the story line gets dragged on for so long that I eventually lose interest. This drama is very family orientated and will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy on the inside and is quite dramatic which will not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is mine. This drama follows the story of Choi Se Young who was adopted as a young girl and lives a happy life due to the unconditional love of her adopted family. Her past soon catches up to her as she is reunited with her biological mother and finds herself in constant struggle with her adopted family and family by blood. This drama really is lighthearted and fun and of course heart wrenching in certain moments. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys romance and family centered dramas as you will find your self laughing and crying along with the characters.

Finally I have been really enjoying some of these songs that I will be mentioning, without a doubt they have become my summer anthem and make me want to dance around!
  1. Growl - EXO
  2. Rum Pum Pum Pum - f(x)
  3. Study - Stellar
  4. Treasure - Bruno Mars

These are just a couple of things that I have been enjoying and thank you so much for reading! Until next time.

Etude House &Rose Collection

Hello lovelies,

As much as it pains me to go back to school this upcoming September I am beyond excited for the new fall makeup releases. The release that I am the most thrilled about is Etude’s House “& Rose” collection. A couple of days ago Etude House released the images of their new collection and concept which is inspired by the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty. This collection was launched in Korea on August 26th. f(x)’s Sulli is the model for this collection and looked beautiful and enchanting just as a princess should. I would say the makeup looks that are portrayed in these images do a wonderful job in capturing the fantastical and mystical elements of a fairy tale. Etude House is not only known for their great quality and cute packaging, but as well as their cute concepts that they are always putting out. In my own opinion Etude House has never missed a single step with any of their cutesy and adorable themes and the “& Rose” collection is no exception.  This collection includes 4 eye pencils, 4 nail polishes, 8 matte lip glosses, and the one I am most excited about, the Etude House &Rose Flowering Eyes Palette. I NEED THIS IS IN MY LIFE.

This collection emphasizes on one of the makeup trends that I have been noticing for the fall which is a variation of pinks, mauves, and reds on the eyes. This time around Etude House hasn't included that many products in this collection, but I feel that this is because their focal point is the dramatic lips and a subtle eye. I am also most excited for the palette not just because I am an eye shadow junkie but because it is rare for Etude House to produce a large palette as I am accustomed to their single shadows. Overall I am intrigued by this collection and will definitely be purchasing some of these items and reviewing them.

Beauty Haul ♥

Hello lovelies,

I’ve done a bit of online shopping and I thought I’d share with you all what I purchased. All of these lovely items were purchased on one of my favorite websites EVER, hautelook.com. This website is basically flash sale goodness. You get awesome products for an even more awesome price. Some of my favorite makeup brands are constantly being sold on here from, Urban Decay, Lorac, and theBalm. So I highly recommend this to anyone who has a craving for makeup that you can never quite fill, but are on a tight budget. You will not regret anything trust me. Enough of my blabbering on with the haul:

This haul is composed of two online purchases and the first purchase that I made was from urban decay and I picked up two products.

The first thing that I picked up was the Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer in the shade Bodyguard which is the second lightest shade. This summer I have been absolutely obsessed with tinted moisturizers and thought I would give this a go and see how I like it. I haven’t had the chance to play with this product so I can’t really give you my thoughts and opinions just yet, but I will most likely whip up a review to express my thoughts and feelings on this item.

  • Price: $5.00

The second product that I picked up is Urban Decay’s Lip Junkie Lip Gloss in Perversion. I was so excited when I saw the color in the tube as I am a huge fan of vampy lip products, but it can be quite misleading. I looked up swatches of this lip color and saw that it was a sheer purple that is very different from the color in the tube. However the color gives a very unique shade of color to the lips which I really love. This subtle hint of the deep purple mixed with black is definitely a toned down version of a vampy gloss that is definitely approved on my list!

Here's a swatch:
  • Price: $3.00

The next order that I placed was from theBalm and I again picked up two products:

The product that I picked up from theBalm which has definitely been on my wish list for a very long time is the Mary lou Manizer. Before I continue on can we all just take a moment to appreciate and drool over the freaking cute packaging. The Balm is known for their cute packaging but every time I get my hands on their products I am always pleasantly surprised. Now moving on, there is so much hype built around this product and oh my goodness I can see why. This is a gorgeous golden highlight that is just absolutely breathtaking. I love it! This product is multi-functional like many of theBalm products and can be used an eye shadow which is an added bonus. This bad boy might possibly be in the run for my favorite highlight.

Just look at this beauty!

  • Price: $12.00

The second and last thing I picked up was a skincare item that I am so excited to use, theBalm’s Cucumber Face toner. Again the packaging is just so cute and vintage and dainty and lovely I just don’t have the heart to get rid of the box. I have recently run out of my Simply Soothing Face Toner which was a pretty good toner but not a product I’m crazy about so I decided to try out something new. I haven’t tried out this toner just yet so maybe I’ll write a review on how much I like or dislike it.

  • Price: $6.00

So that's it for my haul. Thank you for reading and until next time.

Summer Essentials

As summer is coming to a close I have been using products that have certainly gotten me through the unbearable hot days and I wanted to share them with you all. These makeup/skincare products have been the things that I have been reaching for and in my opinion work great with the hot weather.

  •  The first thing that I been using on my face is my beloved The Balm Shelter Tinted Moisturizer. I have several tinted moisturizers in my makeup stash, but this tinted moisturizer has been the one to demonstrate more resistant against the annoying sweating that we all experience during these hot summer months. I love the fact that it is very lightweight, so if you try this product out do not expect a great amount of coverage. You have to keep in mind that this is a tinted moisturizer and is nowhere near the coverage of a foundation. Although the coverage is very light I do believe that this product evens out my complexion which is all I really want a face product to do during the summer. I personally do not have great skin, acne scars and the very frequent spot, so if I ever feel like I need a bit more coverage I just go back in with a concealer and that takes care of my stubborn imperfections. The retail price for this product on The Balm website is $25, but I was lucky enough to snatch up this little puppy on hautelook.com for about $9 so keep your eyes peeled if this ever goes on sale. I definitely have loved this product for summer and I definitely recommend it to you all

  • The second product that I have been reaching for everyday is my Clean and Clear Advantage acne control moisturizer. This moisturizer is one that I have been using since I was in high school and I continue to love it. I usually have really oily skin which is a big no no for me during the summer. Heat and Oil are not a good combination trust me. This moisturizer reduces the oiliness of my skin without being overly drying and I really do believe that this product helps control my acne when it is at its worst which is a big plus for me. Overall this is my go to moisturizer for summer when my skin is oily, acne prone, and all other types of craziness.

  • The third product that is a definite summer must on my list is my Revlon lip butter in Pink Truffle. The color of this lip butter is a warm neutral rosy pink and it is absolutely gorgeous. This lip product is a definite must for me because of how lightweight the formula is. I do not always enjoy wearing a heavy lipstick during the summer because it just feels like it’s going to melt of and end up on my chin. That is definitely not a good look for anyone! This little baby gives me a beautiful wash of color on my lips and can be quite buildable if you ever decide to really go for a pop of color. Love love love.

  • The last and final product that I have fallen in love with all over again is my Deslick Makeup Setting Spray by Urban Decay. This setting spray is definitely one of my favorite products of all time because I definitely feel that it prolongs my makeup and who doesn’t love that, right? Although the Deslick setting spray claims to reduce oiliness, I do not believe that it actually does this. Shame on you urban decay for feeding me false hopes but it’s okay I can forgive them because of how great this stuff is. To be honest I have tried many makeup sprays and I do not think that such sprays are able to reduce said oiliness. I think companies just like to exaggerate what their products can do because of all the stiff competition they have which in turn leads to broken dreams. With all jokes aside I absolutely adore this product because it does what a make-up spray should do; it increases the longevity of your makeup. Through the hot days we all need something like this to keep our makeup on our face. Sweet and simple.
